This desk is crafted from Italian Ebony Veneer on bentwood doors. The desk was veneered at the same time the bent plywood was glued. This was commissioned by an interior designer who asked for Macassar Ebony. It was a miscommunication at first until technicians at Oakwood Veneer saw a photo of a piece of furniture with what she thought was Macassar but was actually Italian. Thankfully, Italian Ebony is much more affordable than the "real" thing.
