Afromosia Veneer
Afromosia (Pericopsis elata) veneer has a beautiful golden-brown color with an attractive ribbon figure that gives a luxurious look where it is used. It is a harder wood veneer, making it a great choice for cabinet and casework projects. It can also be used as an alternative to teak, since it has a similar weight, strength, and nearly comparable rot resistance. While a great choice for boat interiors, Afromosia is so lovely it can be used for any project where a unique or elegant look is desired.
Afromosia is sometimes referred to as African teak, though it is not closely related to genuine teak (Tectona grandis).
Quarter Cut Afromosia can be found in West Africa. The common names are assamela and mohole. It is also known as African Walnut Veneer, kokrodua, ayin, egbi, Afrormosia elata, African satinwood, African Teak, and ejen.
Afromosia Quarter Cut comes in a variety of sizes 4’x8’, 4’x10’, and 4’x10’. There are also a variety of backers, such as 10-mil, 20-mil bubble free, and peel & stick 3M/PSA.
