Angico Preto

Angico Preto Veneer

Angico Preto (Anadenanthera columbrina) veneer has very lovely red-brown heartwood that frequently has darker brown to black streaks throughout.  It has a fine uniform texture and is naturally lustrous.  Angico Preto’s lovely coloring can make a furniture piece stand out. The flat cut gives it a wavy grain.

Other names for Angico Preto include Plain Sliced Angico Cedro, Angico do Banhado, Angico dos Montes, Angico Verdadeiro, Angico Vermelho, Cuarucaia, Paric, Curupay, Pepperwood, Cebil, and Patagonian Rosewood.  Despite being called Patagonian Rosewood, Angico Preto is not related to the rosewood species at all.
