Are wood veneer seams visible?
Oct 28th 2015
Question:
When estimating the quantity of sheets to buy, should I plan on spacing pre-existing seams in the center of a panel? This might be more important for a burl where a pattern would look better centered.
Are the seams visible in a burl?
Answer:
It’s entirely up to the individual, but in most cases, any panel will look better if you center a seam so any book match effect will look symmetrical.
Although seams in a burl, or any veneer for that matter, shouldn’t be noticeable if done properly, anyone who looks for them will find them.
