Rotary Cut vs. Flat Cut Birch

Oct 28th 2015

Question:

Hello, I’m wondering if the differences between Rotary White Birch, 1 Piece Face, Rotary White Birch with Seams, and Flat Cut White Birch is in the color, or just the pattern of the grain?

The images on your site look like the rotary has a completely different color. I’m interested in the white birch not the red birch. When you go to the shopping cart, it lists the white rotary birch with seams. What does this mean exactly? There is more than one piece of veneer seamed together? Thank you!

Answer:
Basically the colors are the same. The way rotary is cut, however, sometimes exposes much more of the swirl in the grain so the veneer takes on a darker appearance.
