Premium Wood Veneer Sheets — Domestic, Exotic & Burl Veneer

Flexible Wood Veneer for Furniture, Cabinetry & Custom Woodworking

Bring the beauty of genuine wood to your next project with wood veneer sheets from Oakwood Veneer Company.

Based in Troy, Michigan, we offer a wide selection of domestic hardwoods, exotic species, decorative burls, and specialty wood veneers for professional woodworkers, cabinetmakers, furniture builders, and DIY enthusiasts.

Our flexible veneer sheets make it possible to add natural wood grain to existing furniture, cabinet doors, decorative panels, and other properly prepared surfaces.

Whether you're restoring an older piece of furniture or building something new, we can help you find the right wood veneer.

Explore Our Wood Veneer Species

The wood species and grain pattern you choose will have a significant impact on your finished project.

Some of our popular selections include:

  • Oak Veneer: White Oak, Red Oak, and European Oak with flat-cut, quartered, rift-cut, and specialty grain options.

  • Walnut Veneer: Rich natural brown coloring with different grain cuts and decorative figure selections.

  • Sapele Veneer: Warm reddish-brown wood featuring ribbon grain, Pommele, and other decorative patterns.

  • Wenge Veneer: Distinctive dark wood grain with natural and engineered selections.

  • Burl Veneer: Beautiful swirling patterns found in Mappa Burl, Walnut Burl, and other decorative wood species.

Our selection includes different grain cuts, figure classifications, and backing options, depending on the product.

Popular Uses for Wood Veneer Sheets

Flexible veneer sheets are a versatile choice for many woodworking applications.

Common uses include:

  • Cabinet Refacing: Refresh cabinet doors, drawer fronts, and existing surfaces.

  • Furniture Restoration: Repair or update furniture while preserving its original construction.

  • Custom Furniture: Add decorative wood grain to desks, tables, cabinets, and specialty furniture.

  • Architectural Millwork: Create attractive surfaces for interior panels and decorative features.

  • Specialty Woodworking: Bring natural wood character to custom boxes, displays, and smaller projects.

Unlike veneer-faced panels, flexible veneer sheets are applied to a separate substrate using an appropriate adhesive and installation method.

Choose the Right Wood Veneer Backing

Choosing the right backing can make a significant difference in how your veneer is installed.

Oakwood Veneer Company offers several backing systems across its wood veneer products.

Backing Option Common Applications Installation Method
10-Mil Paper Backer Furniture, cabinetry, decorative panel faces Press application only
Bubble-Free Veneer (BFV) Furniture, cabinetry, architectural surfaces Hand scraping or press
3M™ PSA (Peel & Stick) Cabinet and furniture refacing Pre-applied adhesive; hand scraping
Phenolic Backed Counter fronts and difficult substrates Press or hand scraping
Wood-on-Wood (WOW) Certain curved panels and solid-stave woodworking projects Press or hand scraping

Each backing has different adhesive requirements, finished thicknesses, and flexibility limitations.

For additional information, consult the Backer Selection Matrix Guide available on our individual product pages.

Not every backing option is available for every species or sheet size.

Available Sheet Sizes & Ordering

Our wood veneer sheets are offered in different dimensions, quality selections, and backing configurations.

Many popular species are available in standard 4×8 and 4×10 sheet sizes, with additional dimensions and specialty options available on selected products.

For larger installations, unusual dimensions, or projects requiring several sheets with similar grain, we recommend contacting our team to discuss current availability.

Because genuine wood varies naturally, individual sheets may have differences in color, grain, and figure.

Shipping, Handling & Finishing

Wood veneer sheets require careful handling during shipping, preparation, and installation.

Follow the handling and acclimation recommendations for your selected product before applying the veneer.

The appropriate adhesive, surface preparation, and application method depend on the backing material and substrate.

We also recommend testing stains, sealers, and protective finishes on a sample before completing your project.

Shipping times may vary depending on the selected species, sheet size, backing, and current inventory.
