Honduras Mahogany (swietenia macrophylla) has been the choice for high-end furniture, musical instruments, and exceptional cabinetry for centuries. Honduras Mahogany veneer varies in color from pink and red to dark red and brown. The texture of this wood veneer is medium to coarse and exhibits a mostly straight grain with some interlocking grain. Flat Cut Honduran Mahogany Wood Veneer has a linear grain with nice cathedrals. Honduras Mahogany stains and polishes to an impressive luster. Mahogany is available in different veneer cuts, including Crotch Mahogany, Fiddleback Mahogany, Mottle Mahogany, and Pomelle Mahogany. South American Mahogany veneer is available in quarter-cut and flat-cut. Crotch Mahogany Wood Veneer is one of the most beautiful woods to work with. Also called Swirl and Flame Mahogany, it machines with ease and is perfect for high-end projects. Other names for it include Figured Mahogany, and Mahogany with patina or Turkey Tail figure.
