Domestic, Exotic, & Burl Flexible Wood Veneer
American Oak is a staple in the woodworking industry for its sustainability, versatility, and stunning grain variety. Whether you are restoring an antique or designing modern retail fixtures, Oak wood veneer provides a consistent, high-end finish that suits any architectural style.
White Oak is a domestic hardwood grown throughout the United States. It features an even tone ranging from biscuit to medium yellow-brown, which takes on a beautiful honey hue when finished.
Flat Cut: Showcases classic "cathedrals" popular in Arts and Crafts style furniture.
Rift Cut: Produces a straight, linear grain perfect for contemporary and minimalist designs.
Specialty Figures: We offer Oak veneers with heavy flake, "tiger" figuring, or fumed options for those desiring a darker, smoky tone.
Native to the Northeast U.S. and Canada, Red Oak is slightly darker than White Oak with a distinct reddish tinge. It is highly variable and dynamic:
Rotary Cut: Displays a bold, watercolor-style grain pattern.
Quarter Sawn: Provides a straight grain often featuring medullary rays (flakes) that reflect light for a unique, shimmering look.
A traditional choice known for its coarse grain and golden-light brown hue. European Oak is prized for its distinctive medullary rays and classic Old-World aesthetic.
Many woodworkers initially look for oak plywood or hardwood plywood at local stores. While these are common, our professional-grade veneer sheets offer a superior alternative. Unlike standard red oak plywood, our veneers allow for wrap-around curves and perfect sequence matching.
If your project requires a rigid core, we typically recommend applying our veneer to MDF rather than standard plywood to ensure a flatter, more stable surface. However, if your project specifically requires a plywood substrate, please call us—we can accommodate special requests to ensure you get the exact result you need.
Our Oak veneer is available in several grades, from "Standard" (which includes natural pin knots and streaks) to "AA Premium Grade" (clear of imperfections).
Professional Backing Options:
10-Mil Paper Backer: For standard woodworking.
22.2-Mil (BFV): Our Bubble-Free Veneer for maximum stability.
PSA (Peel and Stick): Pressure-sensitive adhesive for fast, high-strength application.
We stock a massive variety of sizes, including standard 4’x8’ sheets, large format 5’x12’ sheets, and specialized cross-grain options. Because Oak is our top seller, we maintain a deep inventory to ensure your project stays on schedule. For custom sizes or technical advice, please call our specialists.
