Oakwood's Wood Balance Backer is used to stabilize the plywood or MDF in order to avoid cupping or twisting. It allows your board to lay flat in order for ideal veneer application. It is used for a surface that won't be seen. Wood backers can have multiple defects. If you need a cleaner sheet, than economy would be better.
